Fall Guys
Wobbly beans, obstacle courses and no guns: the hut for crews where some players have never held a controller.

Profile
What it asks of a crew
- Easy startRun, jump, grab. A new player understands the first round by watching it.
- Team talkSquads win or lose together, but nobody has to plan anything; most rounds reward running.
- Skill gapA practised player qualifies more often, but physics knock-downs and grabs keep everyone in it.
- Short sessionsRounds are a few minutes, and a whole show takes about ten.
- Team size
- Squads of four and Duos; the main Knockout show is every player for themselves, with up to 32 in a show
- Main mode
- Squads or Knockout show: rounds of 1½ to 5 minutes up to a Final, about 8–13 minutes in all (our estimate)
- Short option
- Explore: player-made levels with no fixed length; skip any level, leave after any finish
- Devices
- PC (Epic Games Store), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch and Switch 2; Android through the Epic Games Store app; iPhone only in the EU; no Mac
- Cross-play
- Full cross-play, mixed-device parties and shared progress with an Epic account; Show-Bucks bought on Switch stay on Switch
- Ranked
- Ranked Knockout, solo only: a party cannot play it together
- Price
- Free to play. Show-Bucks (the paid currency), the Fame Pass (600 Show-Bucks) and cosmetics cost money. Epic says purchases are cosmetic only.
- Paid random items
- None found. The shop sells fixed items, and the ESRB lists plain 'In-Game Purchases' without random items.
- Age rating
- PEGI 3 with in-game purchases (pegi.info and the PlayStation Store UK). ESRB Everyone, for mild cartoon violence, with 'Users Interact' and 'In-Game Purchases'.
- Released
- August 2020; free to play since June 2022
First night
A 45-minute plan
Squads first, so the team carries whoever falls most; one solo show at the end.
- BeforeEach player needs an Epic account. Under-13s get a Cabined Account: they can play straight away, while chat and purchases stay off until a parent consents.
- 0–5 minInvite up to three friends into a party. Voice chat is off by default; switch it on only if everyone wants it.
- 5–20 minTwo Squads shows. The team qualifies together, so a strong player can carry a new one through.
- 20–35 minExplore together: player-made levels, no elimination, skip any level you dislike.
- 35–45 minOne Knockout show where every bean plays for themselves, then stop.
Accounts and ages
Before anyone signs up
Fall Guys runs on an Epic Games account on every platform. A player under 13, or under the country's age of digital consent if that is higher, gets a Cabined Account: the game is playable, but voice chat, free text chat, real-money purchases and custom display names stay off until a parent consents.
Voice chat works only inside a party or team and defaults to off. Epic says chat is disabled for children under 10, and that the 'Friends only' voice setting is not supported in Fall Guys, so a parent chooses between 'Friends and teammates' and 'Everybody'.
Where the first hours go
Most of the first evening is laughing at falls. Races, survival rounds and team games rotate within each show, and the next show starts the moment the last one ends. Squads progress on the team's result, so a new player is carried by the others.
The game gets small updates now rather than big ones: the official news page has been quiet since March 2026, and Epic's chief executive spoke of a 'huge retooling' in October 2026 without dates. The shows still run.
Mixed ages, non-gamers and parties of up to four who want laughs more than tactics. Voice chat is off by default, there is no free text chat, and under-10s get no chat at all.
Groups of five or more, crews who want team strategy, Mac users and iPhone owners outside the EU, and anyone hoping for a busy update calendar.
